Pontiac Repair: ignition switch, pontiac sunbird, key cylinder

Question
how do you replace the ignition switch in a 1986 pontiac sunbird?

Answer
If you are talking about the key cylinder, the steering wheel will have to come off, you will need a steering wheel pulley, then you will need to depress the shaft lock plate to remove the clip, you will need the lock plate depressor tool, then pull the signal canceling cam, out of the way, then remove the key warning buzzer switch, sitck a paper clip into the space between the switch and the steering column assembly and pry it out, don't lose the small retainer underneath the switch, then you can remove the cylinder lock screw.
