Pontiac Repair: a/c and electrical, vacuum line, vacuum valve

Question
Hi Wayne.  I have a 99 grand am 2.4l .

A/C : the fan cuts off and on intermittently.(blower motor?) also, my selector switch which controls where the air blows, i.e. defrost, panel, floor, etc doesn't control anything. The air just blows a little out of every vent.?

Electrical: this one sends me for a loop.  without any lights on my cruise control and signal lights  work fine. Turn the lights on - or when the auto lights come on at dusk- my cruise control no longer works and my signal lights act up.  The signal indicators in the cluster flash extremely fast, the rear signals also flash extremely fast, and at the front you cannot tell which signal is on- the front signals and the side markers all flash fast and extremely dim at the same time.

My horn also doesn't work -day or night- not sure if it's related to any of the above problems.

any input would be greatly appreciated- thank you.

Answer
Hi, on the blower motor this could be the bolwer resistor or the relay, on the the control switch, check for a loose vacuum line, check the vacuum under the hood, there is a line that comes from the engine to the inside of the car, this line can break and cause the control not work, it also could be a vacuum valve, this valve is under the dash. On the lights this sound like the auto lights module has a short in it.
