Pontiac Repair: power window, pontiac grand am, 12 volts

I have a 93 pontiac grand am

the driver side power window gets stuck all the time and I have to help it up and down otherwise it barely moves I think it is the motor but how would I check to be sure and how would I go about installing a new one.

Hi, you will have to take the door panel off, take the wires a loose from the motor and check the volts going to the motor, you should have 12 volts when you push the switch to let the window up or down. If you have 12 volts then it would be the motor. If you don't have the 12 volts then it would be in the switch. On replacing the motor I would take it to a repair shop. And let them do it.
