Pontiac Repair: Car problem, pontiac sunfire, fuel pump

Hi and thanks in advance for any help.

My 96 pontiac sunfire (automatic, 4 cylinder) has been dying on me while im driving. The battery isnt dead cause my lights and stereo are still on but my car just dies and i have to brake and pull off the road and then park it and then restart it to get going again. It happens very randomly like it could happen 3 times in 20 minutes or go away for a couple of days.  I really dont have a clue on what is wrong and what needs to be fixed. I figure something is loose or something but really not sure what so any help on what might be the problem would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, this could be the fuel pump trying to go out, the ignition module can cause the same thing, A loose gound wire going to the ECM. it is hard to say, when the car run good at times, because when it is running you can't find any thing wrong. then when it stops, you are some where and you can't get it checked.
