Pontiac Repair: 92 pont. grand am se sohc, dowel pin, crank sensor

Question
crank at 12 oclock cam between 5 and 6. can chain be so worn to cause 110,105,30,and 30 on a compression test.never worked on this engine before. tension plunger appears all the way out,and chain feels loose.what can i use as a dowel pin, and is the alignment of the cam sprocket with pin hole crucial? how tight should the dowel be and how would this affect timing? could the chain be so worn that the crank sensor is not picking up

Answer
Hi, whit this low compression this warped valves, what i thank this is that the timing has jumped, and cause the vale to warp. you can check this by taking the valve cover off, the lifter will have to out to , when you get to the valve springs push down on the springs, if the spring gose down and pops right by up then the valves are ok, now if push down on a spring and it will not go, the valve is warped.
