Can I remove the transmission without pulling the entire engine (looks like getting those top bolts can be impossible w/out pulling the entire motor)?  I'm in AZ and left my Haynes manual back in CT.  The transmission cooler lines inside the radiator cracked and coolant was circulated throughout the transmission...1st and overdrive are shot.

I think it's time for an overhaul...

hih, yes you can remove the transmission with out removing the engine. you willl have to put a juck under the trans hold it up then remove the cross menber, then you can let the jack down and the back of the engine will tilt back then you can get to the top bolts.
