Question -
I'm switching out compressors on my 92 Pontiac Gran Am any Helpful hints?
Answer -
Do not loosen any hose or line fittings, until after the system has been discharged. The system is under high pressure. Can't tell you how to remove it don't no what engine you have.
Question - Its a 3.3 liter V6 and I'm going to put on a compressor from a salvage yard or would it be easier to switch out the chokes The choke on my compressor is bad right now and if I were to switch how would I do so?

Answer
It would be easier to switch the compressor.
Disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal.
Set the park brake and block the rear wheels. Raise the front of the car and support it secirely on jackstands.
Remove the right under-vehicle splash shield.
Remove the drivebelt diconnect the refrigerant lines from the rear of the compressor.
There are 3, 15mm, bolts in the front and 1 10mm in the rear, then the compressor will come out from the bottom.
