Pontiac Repair: trouble codes, pontiac grand am, trouble code

My wife has a 96 Pontiac Grand Am - 3.1L and the trouble code 0140 keeps showing up. What does "no activity detected(cylinder bank no. 1,sensor no. 2) on th O2 sensor cicuit" mean and is there more than 1 O2 sensor on this vehicle? Thanks.

Hi, yes there are two of then, one is before the catalytic converter, and the other is passed the catalytic converter.
This means that the 02 sensor before the catalytic converter is not working. And has to be replaced.I have found that when you change one need to the other.
