Pontiac Repair: Overheating, pontiac firebird, coolant temp

Question
I took my  '95 Pontiac firebird into the shop because it was overheating. They said the radiator was real dirty and so they flushed it out and rodded it and put in a new thermostat. It still overheated the day I got it back. they said the fans are working but aren't turning on until it gets pretty hot. What should I do now?

Answer
It sound to me like they were just guessing and I doubt that they rodded the radiator. I havn't heard of anyone doing that in the last 20 years. You should take it to another shop to have it properly diagnosed, like a Pontiac dealership. You could have several different things causing your problem like one of the fan relays, coolant temp sensor, PCM, head gaskets, etc.
