Pontiac Repair: Fuel system, dash lights, electrical problem

Question
Okay, a lots of the time my car seems to work fine, but a little less than half the time it is not getting any gas through the fuel injector. I recently replaced the fuel pump, but about a week after symptoms of trouble showed.  It didn't seem too apparent or anything to worry about but while driving the dash showed all the lights flash on and all the gauges go down too. Only for a split second though. And now a couple weeks later it's acting the same way and im not sure if the car is gonna get gas or not. Now that i have you informed what might the problem be?  Me and my friends thought maybe a short in the fuel pump  or injector line. A clog that get pushed around quite often. a system pressure problem. or the fuel pump was faulty or my injector is going bad. What do you think is the best way to figure it out on our own?  And what are your suggestion about what the problem might be? Please. It is a 1991 Grand Am. I hope to have ben very thorough. Please help me.

Answer
It sounds to me like you have an electrical problem that has nothing to do with the fuel system.
If all of your dash lights and the gauges fluctuated the way you said, I would be checking for an intermittent open curcuit. Probably a main power or ground that feeds the dash as well as the computer.
