Pontiac Repair: 91 Grand Am Starting Problems, spark plug wires, throttle body injection

Question
A couple of weeks ago I asked about starting problems for a 91 Grand Am (Tech 4) that turns over but will not start.  I have a new battery (fully charged), starter, coil, module and spark plug wires.  When this problem first started, if you lifted the hood for 20 minutes in the sunshine, the car would start.  Now, it won't start at all.  You replied (thank you) with a question as to whether it was getting gas to the throttle body and suggested that the problem could be the fuel pump.  My question in response is:  How do I determine if I'm getting fuel to the fuel pump?  If it had a carburetor, I could look in and see, but this is fuel injectors.  Can I put a screwdriver in the throttle valve, or is there some other way to diagnose if my fuel pump is working?  Thanks for your help.

Answer
Hi, the (Tech 4) has what is call a (TBI) Throttle body injection. Remove the air cleaner and filter, and the filter housing. In the top of the TBI you will see the injector. If you turn the key to start the engine you should see the spraying the gas in to body. This will tell you that the fuel pump is working. Now one more to check the pump is to turn the on and listing for the pump to come on. The fuel pump is in the gas tank.
