Pontiac Repair: ABS/BRAKE SYSTEM, aluminum color, brake drums

Question
I have a 1998 Pontiac minivan Transport 3.4 v6. My ABS and BRAKE light are both on. I recently had a mechanic change the brake drums, rotors, pads and shoes. He also change the cylinders because they were wet. He couldnt get the fluid to go to the back brakes when he was bleeding them. He thinks that the abs system is damaged. SYMPTOMS: when i turn the car there is a sound like a cricket that happens for 2 seconds and is coming from a part in the far right corner of the vehicle (when im facing it) on the top which this other mechanic told me it was the ABS regulator. I look at the expressauto parts and there isnt a part called an ABS regulator.DESCRIPTION OF PART: It is a aluminum color part with three circle like circuits on top with 3 wires attached to each circle and the sound is coming from the inside of it. The lights have been on for quite along time even before he change the brakes  and the sound too but just for about a week prior to him doing the job. DO you have any idea of what could it be? and if there is an ABS REGULATOR and could that be the problem? Im sorry if this is confusing but so am I about all of this. Thanks, Efrain

Answer
Your "ABS regulator" is actually a master cylinder in your braking system responsible for sending fluid to your brakes to engage/ disengage. I'm afraid though that I have no idea why that particular part would be making a chirping sounds though. But I would suggest replacing it to ensure you have a safe braking system. First though to get rid of your indication lights you could try disconnecting your battery to let your computer reset itself. Just be sure to let your van idle for about 10 mins afterwards to allow your computer to reset or "relearn" its idle. I hope some of this helps you and good luck with your problem.
