Porsche Repair: clutch/transmission, drive axles, clutch

Question
I hope you can help me. I was on my way home from work and out of nowhere my tach started to raise rapidly, and I lost power to the wheels. Now when I shift from neutral to 1st, through 5th I have no power to the wheels. When I try to reverse it grinds and wont go into gear. Also when I put it into gear and take my foot off the clutch the car doesn't stall(without the accelerator pressed at all) please help me. Thanks in advance for your help

Answer
It sounds like you have a failed clutch, but I am not sure why the grinding in reverse. Typically the clutch starts slipping in the 3rd - 5th gears first due to the higher loads when under full throttle. The only other thing I would check is to make sure one of your drive axles did not fall off. On the early 911's that sometimes happens.
