Porsche Repair: Instrument cluster warning lights all on, porsche 944, warning lights

Question
1989 Porsche 944 NA
All my warning lights in the instrument cluster remain constantly on, however, all the problems that would trip the warning lights are fixed ( ie., i have new brakes, new O2 sensor, great oil pressure, etc ).
I have tried to unhook the battery, then hook it back up to try to reset it but with no luck.  Any ideas on solving this problem?

Answer
Hi John,

I can certainly presume what is happening... but I have also tried to decipher the 944 wiring diagram on many occasions and it is quite a chore to do.

The dashboard appears to be in the 'key in and on' position where everything lights up at once during its test mode...and if you're paying attention you can check that all the warnings are working.  After a moment of the engine running they all go off waiting for their chance to shine!  Individually, not as a group like you have.

The easy answer would be the ignition switch but I doubt it would be THAT easy.  The wiring diagram shows it's wiring all leading to a fuse board or black box that contains the Digital Motor Electric Relay as well as fuses 34, 36 and 39.  To be frank, I mention this to point you to it but I don't know what you'll do when you get there.  I hate writing responses like this...wish I could be more helpful!
