Porsche Repair: oil level indicator switch, fellow owners, level indicator

Question
My mechanic cannot locate my oil level indicator switch.  I just had to have my boxster towed to his shop and will have to have it towed again if I can't locate the switch.

I had to stop my car when the oil level indicator light went on for fear I would blow up my engine.

Can you help me?  It's a 1999 Boxster.

Answer
Hi Sonya, as my profile indicates, my interest lies with 356's rather than Boxsters...but I was able to do some checking and I have a hunch:

There's a possibility the switch is underneath or very close to the indicator light itself.

If this isn't the case, I'd suggest joining one or both of these internet forums:

Typically, the forum contributors are fellow owners who love to answer the questions of others, especially if they know of some "secret" information, much like the location of this secret switch.

Another question which is very likely already a forum topic is what the meaning of the oil light coming on?  You'll probably find this topic of interest as well.
