Answer
You have a burr or problem on your slide mechanism.  This may be a screw driven by an electric motor.  The screw teeth have something that needs to be cleaned off of it. Probably dirt.  The motor cannot overcome it on the first try.  This could also be caused by the slide tipping and putting pressure on the drive mechanism.  this could be the top and bottom getting out of sync and this putting pressure on the "screw".

the first thing I would try is to lube up the slide out everywhere it rides.  You may want to lube the drive mechanism.  You may notice that there is play where the motor pulls and pushes the bottom out too far or in too far.  This could be a bushing that is worn out.
