RV Repair: Onan Generator Repair, air mixture, generator repair

Question
I have an Onan Generator Part Number 4.OBGE-1R/26109E and the Serial Number is 1870926557.  The generator has not been operational for at least 5 years and I am experiencing difficulty in trying to have it run.

1.   I had to replace the starter and now the generator at least will run when I use
     starting fluid to run it.

2.   The fuel pump was initially jammed but by disassembling it and cleaning it, it
     now pumps fuel.
3.   I am in the process of cleaning and reassembling the carburetor and need your
help.  There are two air mixture valves on the unit.  The idle air is farthest
from the unit and the Main Jet Air mixture is at the bottom of the bowl.  I
know when I reassemble the unit the two jets should be backed out
approximately 1 ½ turns in order to start the generator.

4.   There are two screws on top of the unit one has the letter S and the other has
the letter M.  I am not sure how far in or out these two screws having to be set.
Any help you can provide in this area will be appreciated.

5.   I have put new spark plugs in the unit and set the gap at .25.  I have seen sparks from each plug and believe that since it runs on starting fluid that the spark plugs are set correctly and are firing.

6.   Can you tell me what the setting on the points should be as I do not know if
the setting they are is correct.

7.   Also can you tell me from whom I can order a replacement carburetor from,
the part number and the probable price.

8.  Any other help you can offer will be appreciated.

Answer
Bill, This should be taken into a shop that works on Onan. The reason I say this is because these adjustments should be made while running at one speed and then under load. As far as a carb for it you should be able to get that at any Onan repair shop or dealer. I just don't have all that much on every generator as this is just for general advise. Thanks, Bill
