RV Repair: Hooking up an RV to the house, amp circuit breaker, amp breaker

Question
When linked to the house by an extension cord the A/C unit in the RV blows the power in the house. We decided to wire in a breaker off the main box, just for the camper. We are having nothing but trouble. Or latest tie up is in finding a 7.8 amp circuit breaker. The RV says it needs 7.8 amp input, and puts out 15 amps, which it then uses to run up to 45 amps. Do you know where we can get a 7.8 amp circuit breaker or what we can do to make this work? It's getting hot out here.

Answer
Toni, I have never heard of any RV needing a 7.8 amp breaker. This is not realistic as circuit breakers run on amp draw and when they draw too much they blow. This is caused by heat much like a fuse only resettable. Usually RV's use a 30 amp cord that they plug into. They are 3 prong but only run 110 not 220. I would put it on a 30 amp breaker as long as you run the right wire gauge to the service plug. Thanks, Bill
