RV Repair: Slide on camper, slide on camper, volt circuit

Question
I own a camper and a few weeks back someone hit this camper while it was set up with the slide out. Upon impact the jack holding the camper up was broke and the camper dropped to the ground on the side opposite of the slide. I managed to get the slide back in by using the motor but now it has stopped working. Could this be because of the accident?

Answer
Jennifer, There is no way of knowing for sure if the accident caused this without some inspection, although one happening with the other sure makes one feel that it at least had some impact on what happens now. Is the camper in bad shape because of the accident? If the impact was small and there was little damage that was noticed you may want to get to where the battery is located or in that general area and you should see the positive wires or wire coming from the battery and going to what is called a 12 volt circuit breaker. They will have 2 posts on it with the battery at one side. When you locate this check to see if there is power on both sides of the circuit breaker and if not then it needs replaced. There are some coaches that use a control board and if I knew what brand camper you have I might be able to help further. Thanks, Bill
