RV Repair: Frig, frig, ammonia

Question
About 6 to 8 months ago my frig started to smell and it still smells.  Really bad.  I have cleaned it completely, we pulled it out and it is clean under, around, and the outside does not smell.  It is so bad that we cannot stay in the camper if the frig is opened at all.  What could be wrong.  It is a 2006 Wildwood.

Answer
Well Lynda is the smell one of ammonia? If it is and it sounds that way then you have a bad cooling unit on it and I would remove it and replace the cooling unit only after you make sure that you will be able to get the smell out of the inside of the box. If you can then replace the cooling unit but if you can't then I say replace the refrigerator. I am sorry this is not good news, Bill
