RV Repair: Slide out adjustment, e mail address, plastic strip

Question
I have a HWH hydrolic slide out that when extended has about a quarter inch (or better) gap along most of the length of the floor under the carpet. We felt a draft and when raising the carpet saw he gap. I have talked to two different repair facilities who have no idea how to adjust it to fit down on the floor bevel. It's like the whole s/o raised up and can't come down. The s/o wouldn't go all the way out until I adjusted the rams, I thought that would help the room settle down but it didn't. HELP PLEASE. We are in extreme south Texas and the wind and dust are very bad and blowing in.
Thank you very much.
Al

Answer
Well Al I would need to know if it is a level slide or one that doesn't drop down when it gets all the way out. The adjustment you made on the rams sounds like it was somewhat right, but remember that all adjustments have an affect on where the slide wants to end up both in and out. When you lift up the carpet if you see a plastic strip running along the floor for the slide to run on it is probably a level slide and something may be holding it up from underneath. Check the sides and top of the slide where it meets the wall and see if it is tight and sealed all the way around. This will also tell where the adjustment might need to be made at. If the top and sides are not sealed then you will need to adjust the slide to go out farther. If this doesn't help you I do have an e mail address that you could take some good pictures and send to me. It is hunter42558@sbcglobal.net. In the subject put slide out pics because it will more than likely come in my bulk mailbox and if I don't see anything that I know is coming I delete them without opening them. I hope that this helps, Bill
