RV Repair: crack above the pop out section, top of the pop, wood frame

Question
I'm thinking about buying a 2007 26' Wildwood travel trailer, but noticed that there is a crack about 2" long at the top of the pop out in the interior and a crack 3" long on one side of the pop out on the outside. Is this a major problem, could it cause further problems, and how hard would it be to fix it? Also, what could have caused these cracks? I'd like to find these things out before I decide to buy this unit.

Answer
Well cracks like that are usually caused by stress. They don't have enough in the wall to support everything. If it is cracking already it is not a good sign. Sure it can be repaired but it won't be cheap, and remember that wildwood has a wood frame and not aluminum. The cracks usually come from when the unit is being transported. Remember that as the wood gets wet from rain things seem to get worse faster. Buying this unit should be based on whether the repair shop would guarantee the repair and for how long. That and what sort of price are you getting on the coach and how much travel would you be doing with it.
