RV Repair: 1990 fleetwood tioga, interior paneling, side pannel

Question
My mother-n-law gave us their 1990 Fleetwood Tioga motorhome. It has a lot of water damage to the entire driver side pannel. What would be the best way to repair? Is there a way to find a cheap pannel to replace the water damaged area or would it be better to just seal it and prevent it from further damage?

Answer
Hi there
That kind of water damage can be very problematic indeed.
A full repair would require extensive work with the removal of the interior paneling and insulation along with the damaged framing.. but a dry out, sealing and cover up is a fairly good solution.
We have had good luck with the removal of the damaged paneling and frame work and some cleaver re-framing and panel replacement with something similar in design, which is hard to find.
The area your talking about is not really that structural. So it can be "patched".
