To remove the tank you have to first pull the toilet, then the floor flange from the top of the tank. Some flanges are screwed in and not easy to unscrew. Place a pry bar across the flange with the flange bolts still in place and turn left. Then the tank straps come off, while supporting the tank with a floor jack. The tank has a vent line attached also in the top of the tank that goes through the roof, you'll have to cut it.
Once thats done, drop the tank on a floor jack and slide it out.
Its never that easy, but those are the steps.
Reinstall a household style floor flange, mount your new toilet and water line, then plumb it to 3 inch ABS and run it to your sewer.
