RV Repair: RV Furnace, hunting season, electrode

Question
I have a 1999 Cameo by Carriage. The furnace had been used maybe 5 times when I bought it from a friend in 2006. It has worked perfectly until this hunting season. When I turned it on, it would not light. I replaced the panel on the side of the unit. It worked fine, twice. Now, when I turn it on, it will light 1 time out of 10. Do you think the electrode is bad? I've been told if the electrode is bad it shouldn't ever light.

Answer
Hi DeWayne, Sounds like it may be. The symptoms of a bad eletrode or a bad board is I will go through it's light cycle. While it sparks, (you can hear it) The flame will pop on until the spark stops, Then the flame go's out. Furnace dose not sense the flame. If bad limit or sail, the fan runs and no spark at all. Good Luck.
