RV Repair: Slide adjustment, closing the gap, slide adjustment

Question
Shawn,

I have a 1996 Teton with an H & H mechanism  with a 42" stroke by Barker.  I need to adjust the slides, the big one in the living room (14')  is 1/2" out at the top, tight at the bottom the floor is 3/4 of a bubble off,  down to the outside slide wall mostly on the front end the back is not down as badly. The factory gave me a measurement of 30 1/4" but the room is 31 1/4 deep so where is that measurement and how do I get the top to hit first to pull the floor up? It is breaking over but the bottom hits first. We have shortened the run by 4" and got the room to square up, it was running 3/4" out of square. Thus closing the gap from 7/8" on front end and 1/2" on back to an even 1/2". The floor height is adjusted all the way down. We have already discovered  how structural damage can occur!

Thank you for your time and expertise,
Yolanda

Answer
Hi Yolanda. Wow! You are my kinda woman!! You know a LOT about  your Teton. Tetons are very well build coaches and I am surprised you are having so much trouble with the slide. This is a Huge undertaking that even if I was there helping you with this. I would have to evolve the factory tech help to guide me. I don't want to tell you to try a repair that could damage your beautiful rig. I would take it to a Teton dealer. I am sorry I can't help. Good Luck!
