RV Repair: Roof replacement, rubber roofs, aluminum roof

Question
I had some roof damage on my 2004 Providence during last year's hurricanes.  I have patched the tears and currently have no leaks.  I took the unit to an RV dealer to look into replacing the rubber roof.  They told me that an aluminum roof was the way to go, a rubber roof replacement would never be the same like the dealer.  While I don't intend on selling the unit anytime soon, I am concerned about the value with the patched roof.  I am torn as to leave it alone, replace the rubber roof or put on aluminum.  Could you please give me some guidance?  Thank you for your time.

Answer
roof material is a matter of preference.  While the rubber roof came on the unit, it is also quieter during rain and does not absorb heat as much as a metal roof.  A metal roof is more durable, but is noisier, does not give as much as a rubber roof.

In our shop, we have replace several rubber roofs to factory specs and you can not tell it has ever been apart.  This I suppose is only as good as your repair shop of preference is.

As far as resell, I patched roof doesn't look good but the main thing is... does it leak or cause a problem with the operation of the unit?
