RV Repair: rv storage, rv storage, rv roof

Question
Hi Ron:
Quick question for you...
I live in northern New England where we get a good amount of snow.  I've been looking into a camper for this Spring and I'm considering winter storage (maybe 20+ footer, maybe motorhome for the right price).  In your opinion, do I need to worry about excessive snow build up on the roof?  Should snow be raked off after so many inches of downfall, or is it okay to have that weight sit on the roof?  I'd be storing it a good distance from my home and to go and rake snow off the roof could be time consuming.
Thank you very much for your time.
God Bless.
Sean

Answer
It really depends on the RV.  Most manufacturers will give roof load ratings, you might want to check that out before buying a particular model or brand.  Although I am not aware of snow load causing any damage to an RV roof, that does not mean it has not happened.
