RV Repair: frigiking refridgerator, ammonia water, water hydrogen

My Frigiking reftidgerator, when turned on, the coils in the back get hot but the frige doesnt get cold. I was told that I could take it out and turn it upside down for a day or two then put it back in and it would work. Do you recommend this?

Hi Kirk,
No I do not recommend this. It might work and it might not. If it does it could be for a week or a day but it WILL quit again.
The mixture inside the cooling unit (ammonia,water,hydrogen and an anti oxidant) has formed crystals that have blocked the coils.
The right way to repair it is to replace the cooling unit. This still leaves you with the old box,heaters and controls though.The cost difference between cooling unit replacement(with labor) and a new reefer is not much so you might think about a whole new unit.
