Saab Repair: I have a 95 900s convertible....lately..., wheel disc brakes, disc brakes

Question
I have a '95 900s convertible....lately when I apply the brake I get a thumping or knocking sound. It seems like something may be loose. The sound isn't overly loud but is noticable. When I first apply the brakes I get the sound however if I reapply them again shortly after I don't get the sound...Am I cracking up? I tried to describe it the best I could...Any Advice?

Answer
Your SAAB should be 4 wheel disc brakes...I would pull the wheels off and have a look. Disc brakes are easy to examine, with the wheel off it's all there to see. Check to make sure your calipers are not loose, that the pads are not rattling around, that your discs themselves are not scored too heavily and that there is enough pad material left (metal on metal is BAD)

Otherwise, I would take it to a reputable shop for a quick safety check, should not cost too much and you don't get dirty!
