Saturn Repair: Electrical Issue, crank sensor, saturn sl2

Question
Hello Eric. I have a 93 Saturn SL2 with a 1.9 DOHC, Manual Trans. It just quit running. It turns over, has spark, but no injector pulses. I have checked all grounds and power to PCM and Ignition Module, all OK. All circuits to PCM from injectors and ignition module, all ok. No codes in PCM. Checked resistance of injectors, EGR sol, evap sol, cooling fan and a/c relays, all ok. Fuel pressure OK. Crank sensor has been replaced.
Here are my questions: Will the PCM set a code if it does not see a pulse from ignition module?
How do you test to see if the ignition module is sending the pulses to the PCM?
Is it the PCM, Ignition module or something else.?
Thanks

Answer
Hi Bill

This sounds a little tricky........But the funny thing is, I had a fellow come to me about 2 weeks ago and had almost the same problem......I had and old ignition module and gave it to him to try........and sure enough the car ran like a champ.........

And I haven't seen the pcm set codes for fuel injector pulse.
also get a scanner and see if you can run a qdm test.......it will tell you what passes and fails in certain areas..........but try the module first and let me know ok........I have access to alot of the old service manuals..........

Let me know ok
