Saturn Repair: 96 saturn sl2 FINALLY failed smog test, coolant temperature sensor, computer control system

Question
engine warning light out easy to fix.

what is hard is the two codes shown.

po117 Engine Coolant Temperature circuit low input  So what is causing this one? I also have coolant light on and nothing I have done including replacing the tank has turned it off. I believe it is a sensor but have no idea were it is.

po133 o2 sensor circuit slow response (Bank 1 Sensor !) Where is this sensor so that I can replace it.

That's it even after the 185,000 miles I have on this car still it passes everything except this small problem.

Gotta love a car that gets you this far.

Answer
The oxygen sensor is located in the exhaust manifold in the front of the car. I would replace the coolant temperature sensor which is located on the side of the cylinder head on the transmission side. I would also flush the cooling system out. It may be setting that code due to corrosion on the sensor or low coolant level. After this is done you will have to have an auto repair shop clear the codes for you. This car has an OBD-II computer control system and disconnecting the battery will not reset the codes.
