Saturn Repair: Chirping noise from front wheels of 97 saturn, front wheel bearings, cv joints

Question
I have a 97 saturn sl with about 62,000 miles on it.  I have noticed that there is a chirping noise just like a cricket coming from the front wheels when moving.  Braking makes no difference in the sound.  The sound will go away when I turn the wheel.  There is no clicking or shuddering in the CV joints when I turn so I don't think the CV joints are worn.  If you have any ideas I would appreciate hearing them. Thanks

Answer
Spencer,
I imagine that noise gets annoying, doesn't it?  Anyway, more often than not, I've found a "chirping noice" from one of the front wheels to be a loose/broken hubcap.  Take both of your front hubcaps off and let me know if that fixes it.  The only other thing that I could recommend is that you have your front wheel bearings inspected.  Mostly, the wheel bearings will make a grinding noise at higher speeds though.  Anyway, let me know how it turns out.
