Saturn Repair: Coolant hose leak, coolant hose, saturn dealer

Question
Hi!  This concerns my 1999 Saturn SL2.  I have a nasty leak coming from the metal portion of a coolant hose.  It runs from the right side of the heater, along the firewall, goes under the engine mount, and makes a "T" with one end going up to the coolant reservoir.  Where the leak is located it seems to have rubbed against what I suspect is a steering fluid line, and now has a pinhole.  What I need to know is, what this line is called so I can call around and price it, and know what I'm talking about.  In the meantime, do you recommend a dab of JB Weld?  Repair history:  I had the radiator replaced 6 months ago.   Thanks!

Answer
Beth,
My best suggestion to you is to go to your local Saturn dealer and buy the part there, if you plan to fix it yourself.  That t-shaped coolant hose rarely leaks, so finding it at your local big name auto chain will be a hard thing to do.  Even if you did find one, it would probably not be of the same quality as one you would find from your dealer.  It doesn't cost that much more.  If you go to the parts counter at your dealer and tell them what you just told me, they will have no problem finding the correct part.  I don't know that it has a specific name, just that one end of the tee ends up in the coolant reservoir. It was the same part from 96-02.  JB Weld will hold it for the time being, but the trick is getting the JB Weld on there without contaminating it with coolant.  Hope this helps,

Chris
