Saturn Repair: Reverse doesnt work, car remote starters, electric solenoids

Question
I GOT A CAR REMOTE STARTER IN MY 1997 SATURN, THAT WORKED GREAT UNTIL THIS, NOW MY CAR DOESN'T GO IN REVERSE? WHAT SHOULD I DO? ALSO DO YOU BELIEVE THAT CAR REMOTE STARTERS ARE GOOD FOR SATURNS?
THANKS SO MUCH FOR ALL YOUR HELP

Answer
Alice,
I think I have already answered this question, but here goes anyway.  Many times, when stereo or aftermarket shops install an aftermarket auto-start system, they will find a power wire on the valvebody connector harness on the top side of the transaxle.  When you do this, it takes away power from the valvebody actuators (the electric solenoids that make your transaxle shift).  If the autostart is taking power away from any of these solenoids, your transaxle will not shift into or out of certain gears.  Please try to unplug or disconnect your autostart system to help you isolate the cause of your problem.  If your problems goes away then simply find another power and ground source to power your autostart system.  If not, your local Saturn dealership would be your best bet.  They always have the knowledge, experience and tools to fix whatever ails your vehicle.  Hope this helps,
Chris
