Saturn Repair: 1991 SATURN SL ENGINE LIGHT ON, saturn dealer, saturn sl

THE SERVICE ENGINE SOON LIGHT IS ON AND ITS BECAUSE OF THE QUAD DRIVE.  WHAT IS THE QUAD DRIVE AND WHERE MIGHT I FIND IT ON MY CAR? I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAY THE QUAD DRIVE OPERATES 8 ITEMS ON THE CAR.  DO YOU KNOW WHAT THEY ARE?  FOR A RATHER LARGE FEE, THE DEALERSHIP WILL PUT IT ON THE COMPUTER AND LET ME KNOW IF I CAN'T FIND OUT ON MY OWN. I'D PREFER NOT TO WASTE MONEY THERE.

To the Best of my knowledge, there is no such thing as a QUAD DRIVE.  Also, Saturn is supposed to do all Computer Diagnostic Checks (it is with a small protable reader that hooks up in about 5 seconds) for free.  Check with another dealer in your area or call Saturn Directly in Tennessee.
It sounds like your local dealer is trying to scam you.

Sorry I don't have more info.  The check engine light comes on for many reasons, mostly just because a sensor is not reading correctly.  But, Definately have it checked.  Again, your Saturn Dealer should put the reader on the car and tell you what the diagnostic codes are FOR FREE.  Then, he should tell you what the codes are telling the problem to be.  Then, once you know what is wrong, you can decide to have it fixed or not.  Around here (Metro Detroit), AutoZone also does the diagnostic check for free, too!
