Question - I replaced the sensor, While the plug was disconnected I
shorted the connection with a piece of wire. nothing happened.
the fan runs if you run ac.
does the ignition have to be on for the fan to run?
I am looking for electrical diagram for this car.
cooling fan does not come on and car overheats in
heavy traffic. this is a4 door dohc.

Hi well u most likly dont need a diagram its 9.5 out of 10 times its the temp sensor the best thing to do is get a test light and when the car is hot see if there is power and ground at the plug for the fan if so need a fan if not usually the sensor.if u need more help let me know
AnswerHi what end of the plug did u short? also u say it runs with the ac on that means the circut is good same wire ,,u put a ney coolant sensor or did u change the one for the gauge?u want to change the botton one of the two on the head the top controles the gauge.
