Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): cog info
cog.jpg
QUESTION: this cog belongs to a Ryobi Thickness Planer AP-12 no longer supported by Ryobi and drives the rollers that feed the timber. I can't find one anywhere and I don't know if it can be repaired. Help!

ANSWER: A good machine shop can repair the cog...had it done before.

However, it looks like something I have seen before.

Do you know what chain the cog uses?

How many teeth?  What is the  inside diameter?  Outside diameter?  How thick is the cog?

Let me know the specs so I might be able to see if a similar part is available that might work.

QUESTION: Eric, thanks for the prompt reply. The cog has eight teeth, the inside diameter is 15mm, the outside is 21mm or 38mm from the top of the teeth, it is 12mm thick, the chain is normal bike chain, the lug is 4mm wide and 2mm high.
Cheers, Peter.
