Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Scotts L2548 tractor

Hi. My tractor starts up and seems to be running fine. However, suddenly the deck (blade) quit working. The tractor motor seems to be running ok but when it is put in reverse or I get off the seat the blade kicks in and on intermittently just for a few moments before it kills the motor. The1 blade will not stay engaged while the mower is moving either forward or backward. I bought a seat safety switch and that's not the problem, any suggestions.

There are usually safety switches somewhere on the deck blade engagement and may be one for reverse when the blades are engaged.

Did you check those safety switches?

Looking at the parts lists, you have an electric PTO to engage the blades...is this correct?
