Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Smoking out exhaust

Question
I have a 16hp tecumseh on a cub cadet lawn tractor. As soon as it starts to get warm smoke starts coming out the exhaust. At first its just a little but then it really pours out that i have to shut it off. The head gasket was bad in it so i did change that but it still did the same thing. Can you give me some ideas please.

Answer
What is the engine compression?  Did you perform a cylinder leakdown test to verify the condition of the piston, rings and valves?

If the head gasket was bad dust/dirt may have entered the cylinder and caused the rings to wear.

Does the oil smell like gasoline?  Is the oil thin and runny?  What weight of oil are you using?

Let me know.
