You replaced the shift fork inside the transaxle?

Was the clutch collar inside the transaxle broke or wore?

When you re-assembled the transaxle did you check the make sure you have forward and reverse by spinning the input pulley by hand?  I always verify the transaxle is working before bolting the cases together.
