Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): lack of tension on recoil spring

Question
QUESTION: I have an Earthquake Walk Behind Gas String Trimer which has a Bridggs and Stratton motor. The pullstart cord burst and in the process of replacing the cord, the recoil spring mechanism was removed in the process. I am unable to figure out how to get the recoil spring to function as it should.  How do I get the tension back?

ANSWER: Did you check You Tube for videos?

Since there are a few different starter styles for Briggs engines, search You Tube for "briggs and stratton starter spring" and see which video shows your starter.

QUESTION: Searched You Tube and did not find anything which showed me how to reconfigure or reassemble the starter spring. HELP!?!?!? Please.

Answer
Did you watch the videos below:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=co-4jwn38jI

The URLs above show how to remove the housing, drill out the rivets and replace the starter with a new one using screws.  The other video shows how to rebuild the starter.
