Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Model, Type, Code, twin cylinder engines, briggs and stratton

Question
Will you explain what the numbers or letters mean on Briggs and Stratton engines?  Model-Type-Code.  I know the first 2 numbers of the code is the year of manufacture.  I would like to know what the other numbers mean.  Especially how to identify the horsepower of the engine by these numbers.  I will sincerely appreciate this information.

Here is the Briggs link on the number information:

As far as HP is concerned the numbers will only get you a rough HP number.  As an example, some of the 14, 16 and 18 HP opposed twin cylinder engines used the same cubic inch engine block but had different horsepower ratings depending on the eninge RPM speed.

You should be able to get a close guess as the HP just based on the engine model number.
