Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Subaru engine on a Ridgid pressure washer, parts washer solvent, fuel valve

Question
I forgot to turn off the gas valve after my last use and I came home today to find gas leaking from the engine.  I am sure it soaked through all the gaskets because it hasnt been used in 3 months.   Do I have to rebuild or will they dry out and be alright?  When I tried to start it, gas came out of the exhaust.

Answer
I would drain the oil, re-fill, and start the engine.  It will smoke for a while since oil/gas got in the muffler.  You can remove the muffler and soak in parts washer solvent or carb cleaner solvent to reduce the smoking.

If it runs alright then I would just use the pressure washer...and make sure to turn OFF the fuel valve.
