Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Throttle Stuck, throttle linkage, throttle switch

Question
Hi I have Craftsman 2-cycle Chain saw Model # 358.350810 18" bar
When it turns on it does not idle the chain automatically starts turning. I can not press or depress the throttle switch. It seems stuck and will not allow me to depress it. What do you think the issue is? Thanks.

Answer
Either the throttle linkage is binding somewhere or the carburetor butterfly shaft is sticking.  I would remove the carb so you can dis-connect the throttle linkage.  Check the butterfly shaft to make sure the spring is closing it.  If the carb is fine then you know your linkage is binding somewhere.  Could be a bent link or something binding in the handle or trigger assembly.
