Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Honda HT3813, air gap, coil units

Question
I switched out the long block (old one was dirt washed out)on an HT3813 I obtained. I have no spark at coil. Can't find a wire diagram. Do you know any test procedures for this problem?

Answer
Hi clay

I have found a wiring diagram  for  a vee twin ht3813 honda ride on , it may be the same?

check out this www.tulsaenginewarehouse.com/catalog/honda/charging.pdf

and here is parts web site too

http://www.hondalawnparts.com/pages/oemparts?aribrand=HONPE

are you sure you connected everything back up correctly?

if not disconncect the kill tab wires at both coils and see if you have spark ?
if so maybe a diode is closed ( these in incased in the kill wire loom going back to the ignition switch  or  a interlock switch is faulty or hooked up incorrectly ?

make sure the magnets are directly under the ignition coil units  if  so is there a air gap of about 0.010 to 0.012 thou

take a look and let me know
