Hi Eric ! I have a Murray rider mod.#42598X92A wide body automatic, when you start the engine and press the pedal forward or reverse nothing happens. I really would be grateful for any advise thanks in advance David.

I'd start by checking the belt and all the pulleys in the drive system to make sure none of them are broke.  If the belt and pulleys are good then it may be a transaxle problem.

Can you look under the mower and locate the transaxle brand and model number.  It may be a Peerless or Hydro gear transaxle.  The model number will either be on a stick or a metal plate usually on the side or back of the transaxle housing.
