Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): lubrication, craftsman lawn tractor, rear axles

Question
Thank you for taking the time to help with my question.

I have inherited a Craftsman lawn tractor model 917.25371. I changed engine oil air and fuel filters, and spark plugs. The tractor is running well. I would like to take care of greasing the tractor. I cannot find any particular kind to use in the grease gun. Is there something I special I should use, or just something standard? Also, I noticed small machine screws with square heads on the inside of both rear wheels. Do you know if this is something I need to lube? can you suggest any other areas I should take care of?

Thank you.

Answer
Regular grease is what we use to lube the parts you described.  Front wheels, check the deck quill assemblies, some have zerks, I'd lube the stearing parts.

The screws in the rear wheels are the retaining screws or the axle/wheel lock to keep the rims from tight on the rear axles.
