Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Cranks but no spark, spark test, key switch

Question
Hi Eric,I have a 2008 cub cadet gt1554 rideing mower. It has a kohler 27 hp 725cc V-twin OVH Eng.Model no.sv74os , Family 8KHXS 7252GB ,Serial no.3805907753 , Spec no.PS-SV740-0010 .I hope I have furnished you with enough imfo. The mower ran fine and got off to do something and got back on it and went to start it.It cranks but wouldn't start.I got a repair manual for it and checked RMC module and the key switch wireing ,grounds and switchs.I have found nothing to write home about, the manual strange enough doesn't tell how to check the ignition sys.and coils .it also does not tell how check the altenater and voltage regulator chargeing sys.If you can be of any help I surely would be gratefl.

Answer
Do you have this manual:

You can troubleshoot 95% of ignition problems with a basic multimeter and spark test.  There is not really a need to purchase the Kohler 25 761 40-S advance tester.  I have only had one module that would not advance...very rare.

I still bet there is a safety switch issue.  How many wires are on your ignition switch?   If you remove the switch, are there any letters next to each terminal on the key switch?
