Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Craftsman ridinding mower, engine model type, rear fenders

Then proceeded to mow the lawn,engaged the electic PTO( knob in up position) then after about 5 mins of mowing the engine dies out.I then disengaged the PTO (pushed button down) and the tractors engine ran fine. Repeated the same procedure with the same results just after a few seconds.One thing I noticed is the little window with the hours of use disappears after I engaged the mower deck and the engine tries to die out but returns when I disengaged the PTO button. Is this an electricial problem as we always have to jump or charge the battery, I tried a new battery but the same problem occured. Please help as we can not afford to take it to a JD Dealer. I have noticed others online that have the same problem but can not find an answer. Thank you so much for helping.

What engine is on the mower?  The charging system may not be working properly.  I need the mower model number,  located on a small sticker about the size of a business card, usually located under the seat or rear fenders.   The model number format will be something like xxx.xxxxxx.

Also, I need the engine model, type and code/serial numbers.  The engine numbers will be located on the engine, either stamped on the metal engine shroud or valve cover, or on a sticker.

Let me know the mower and engine information so I can look up your mower.
